Harvest Table & Foodgrains Update

Stone UC Local Foodgrains Bank Project Wrap-Up

Please join us after the Stone Anniversary Service (around 11 am) on Sunday, October 19 for fun challenges and activities!

Prizes will be awarded for:

Pumpkins – largest, best decorated, best carved
Sunflowers – tallest, largest head, most flowers
Zucchini – fastest race, best decorated
Cornstalk – tallest

A delicious lunch will follow at 12 noon.

If you need a zucchini for the new activities of zucchini races, and best decorated zucchini contest, please contact Barb at
519-856-9255 by October 11.

We thought we should provide some rules for the races, in the interest of awareness and fairness for all participants for this inaugural contest.

No motorized zucchinis
No wheels over 9" in diameter
All wheels must be directly attached with the zucchini; the zucchini cannot be mounted on a platform or base.
No limit on size or weight of zucchini.
Participants may have more than one entry.
The Furthest travelled zucchini is the winner; heats will be used to determine finalists.
All decisions of the judges are final.

Zoom will open for conversation before worship at Stone at 9:30 am and remain open until after Rockwood’s service.

Tuesday, October 14 at 7:30 pm join Heather for Bible Study on Zoom. We are studying the story of Abraham and Sarah and people’s favourite passages.

Wednesday, October 15 at 7:30 pm at Stone or on Zoom join the Genesis Book Club for a lively conversation about Daughters of the Deer by Danielle Daniel. Email lisaleffler88@gmail.com if you are attending online.

Friday, October 17 join us at 6 pm for Faith, Food, Friendship and Fun at Rockwood.

Coming Up

Sunday, October 19 at 10 am join us at Stone for our Anniversary Foodgrains Service. Following worship, stay for a morning and afternoon of celebration:

11 am 12 pm – Friendly competitions (approximate timing)
12 to 1 pm – Food and fellowship (approximate timing)
1 pm – A 30-45 minute selection of songs by the Rainbow Chorus.

Price will be $20.00 per person, limit orders 90. We will serve Roasted Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Turnip, Coleslaw and Apple Cake for dessert.
